Northampton, originally known as Ham tune, literally meaning “home town” is one of the largest towns in the UK.

Known as a working town, Northampton was home to one of the UK largest shoe industries, supplying over 23 million pairs of boots to the armed forces in World War One.

In the 1920’s the town expanded and saw the erection of the Northampton Power Station, which supplied electricity to areas as far away as Wolverton!

Today, Northampton is a far cry from the town it once was. With the help of its established and well-trained tradesmen it has transformed into a beautiful town. The growth of the University, expansion of the museum, building of new Council headquarters, restoration of Delapre Abbey and the renovation of both shopping centres and the town centre are just a few of the developments Northampton has undergone in recent years. St Giles Street was also named the "Best British High Street" in 2015!

From builders, electricians and landscape gardeners take your pick of tradesmen from our Northampton directory.

Need someone to deal with your woodwork? Get these local craftsmen in. Some construct and repair building frameworks, others install kitchen cabinets and drywall. It's all about finding the right tradesman for the job - and we've made it easy.

Specialist carpenters and joiners combine style with substance. They may carve ornate staircases or install your all-important window frames and doors. It's not as easy as these tradesmen make it look to measure, cut and shape wood to specification.

If you're remodelling your home, or after something smaller like a built-in-wardrobe to fill, dig out your blue prints, then give your local carpenter or joiner a call.
