The economy of the city is still largely based on engineering and in 1927 England's first automatic traffic lights could be seen in Princes Square!

The young Queen Victoria famously once said "Wolverhampton is a large and dirty town but one which received her with great friendliness and pleasure" after visiting Wolverhampton in the 1830s.

Wolverhampton is a working city, filled with hardworking individuals who helped grown the town into a wealthy city.

This hardworking drive can still be found in the cities experience tradesmen and women.
