Lincoln

Lincoln is a city of history; everything to do with it demonstrates its past.
Founded in the Roman period with the name Lindum Colonia the town’s title was eventually shortened becoming Lindocolina, then Lincylene and finally becoming the name we all know now.

However, its name is not the only historical story Lincoln has to offer. Its major landmarks include Lincoln Cathedral and its English gothic architecture, 11th Century Norman Lincoln Castle and gardens, Bishop Grosseteste University, a teacher training university established in 1862, and the University of Lincoln.
